Her eyes rolled, and her lips were pursed tightly in annoyance as the unimportant voice flowed over her. The words had been repeated so many times to her, that she could’ve stopped the teacher in his tracks and finish of his speech for him. She didn’t pay half a mind to what he was preaching on to her. It was just another teacher in her life, explaining to her if she didn’t do this she was just going to fail along with another half of the student population. It wasn’t shocking news to Diamond, nor was it new news. Her mind had began to drift off to, more important matters to Dia than the current situation, when the gruff voice brought her back.
”Are you even listening to a work that I am saying?” That teacher stopped in mid-sentence to ask Diamond. Diamond let out a small sigh as she answered with a dry tone,” Yea, I’m listening. I’ve heard you tell me this over and over again.” The teacher just closed his eyes and let two of his fingers massage his temples with annoyance as he crossed his arms. ”I don’t know how many times I have to tell you before you get it through your head. What else can I do?” He gave her no time to answer as he reached for the door and let her escape into the hall way.
She was trying to slip away before he could notice it, but she was too slow. She had the pleasure of dragging herself down the hallway, with the math teacher at her heels. She bit the inside of her lip with annoyance as she reached her locker, not too far from the room from which she had just come from. She twisted in the combination 7 36 15 on her lock and with a tug downwards the lock unclicked itself. Insider her locker was plastered with pictures of bands, people she looked up to, friends. The teacher tapped his floor impatiently on the floor and Diamond scurried to gather her backpack and the belonging that had spilled from it when she had tossed carelessly in there earlier.
She slung the backpack over her shoulder and re-locked her locker. Diamond turned, only to be met face to face with the impatient teacher, who was only growing more impatient by the moment. She avoided his gaze and continued down the hallway and turned the corner, hoping he wasn’t going to continue to pester her. But to no avail, for he held in his hand a paper she would have to show to her father. The teacher gave her a small pat on her shoulder. Diamond managed to fake the teacher a smile as he walked away slowly. Only after her turned the corner did she give out a small sigh of annoyance. She rolled down the hallway at a quick pace, she traveled fast when she had a lot of things on her mind. She peeled around the closest corner to her, however as she did so she felt the weight of another person bounce against hers. She had not taken the time to see if anyone was around the corner, and as a result was not sprawled on the floor after having a head on collision. ”Damn.” she muttered under her breath. ”I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there” She let out meekly.
